Occupational Therapy assistant

An occupational therapy assistant or OTA works under the guidance of an occupational therapist (OT). They help patients who face difficulty performing work and day by day activities due to ill health, injuries and disabilities. They help clients carry out exercises as outlined in a treatment plan and teach them how to utilize equipment that may make certain actions easier. They also do some organizational tasks, including recording patients' progress and lots more. So as to become a specialized OTA, candidate needs to get an associate degree from a certified occupational therapy assistant program.

Occupational therapy assistants assist patrons with rehabilitative activities and workout as per the treatment plan developed by them and occupational therapist. The major activities range from training the appropriate way of moving from a couch into a wheelchair and to teaching energy preservation and protection techniques. There are several community colleges and mechanical schools offering these programs.
